About the Farm and Museum

Stone Garden Farm is the working 150 year old Fry Family homestead with many organic fruit and vegetable gardens (including 100 year old asparagus and rhubarb patches), decorative and herb gardens including garlic and horseradish patches, many wild edibles, woods, springs filled with edible watercress, fields and pastures, with plenty to do and see.  Many animals come and go. We currently have Lamancha Milk goats, free-range chickens, and are soon to have dexter cattle and Shetland sheep. Barn Cats are always slinking around, and 2 friendly dogs greet you when you arrive.

In our general store, we sell a variety of home made-jams, homemade soaps, honey, honey comb and maple syrup, many crafts, free range multi-colored eggs, and more according to season.  In October we sell tons of pumpkins and other Halloween and harvest crafts, and Christmas trees, and crafts are available in November and December. Folk and metal art are available year round (we also do custom metal work and art).

Along with our other on-going farm activities, part of the farm has been dedicated to the creation of The Museum of Western Reserve Farms and Equipment. The Museum is comprised of the collection of 30+ historic buildings that have been saved and moved here from 5 northern Ohio counties. These buildings are arranged in a 'Western Reserve' style town square with the one room school house and post office in the center of the community. Many have been restored to their original use and purpose. Each building is open for touring and contains a variety of tools, equipment, and rare, non-electric antiques.

The shops including wood working, blacksmithing, harness shop, weaving mill, sawmill, animal barns, chicken coops, windmills, tin shop, one of the oldest barns in Ohio, letterpress print shop, broom making, threshing mill, bakery, and much more. Shops under construction this year include a larger greenhouse, a "new" two-story  general store, an addition to the blacksmith shop to include a permanent forge, and more.  Our goal is to establish a working village equipt with every shop and trade common to a small town 150 years ago. For more in-depth information about the buildings here, visit our main museum website at
